That’s because “personal branding experts” these days are far from experts.

They are just working on performative marketing – making sure you get impressive vanity metrics that doesn’t actually make you any money.

I don’t believe you should be spending hours on social media, unless you’re getting a positive ROI from it.

I consider myself a content strategist, rather than someone who specialises in “personal branding”.

That’s because I am a Chartered Marketer with a background in branding and I have been creating content for my clients for over 15 years.

Personal branding is a new-ish term that’s been picked up in the last 5 years or so and usually just means creating content.

I work on the strategy, which means there’s always a plan for success, no matter what happens.
