The Positional Advantage™

Most small businesses don’t have marketing problems.

They have positional problems.

The Positional Advantage is how you fix that.

Why Position
Matters More
Than Marketing

During my 15+ years of running a creative agency, delivering strategy days and working inside small businesses as a fractional marketing lead, I kept seeing the same patterns.

Businesses that should have been doing well… weren’t.

Not because they lacked talent.
Not because they lacked effort.

But because they were trying to fix symptoms instead of the root cause.

They didn’t have a marketing problem.
They had a positional problem.

So I built a way of diagnosing and strengthening a business’s position.

Introducing
The Positional
Advantage

In chess, position is everything.

Beginners often focus on tactics – clever moves, quick wins, flashy attacks.

Masters focus on position – where the pieces sit, how they relate to each other and what that means for the long game.

Business is exactly the same.

Most founders are obsessing over moves, but very few are looking at their position.

As an International Chess Master and small business strategist, this parallel became impossible to ignore.

So I built a way of looking at small businesses through the lens of position.

I call it The Positional Advantage.

The Five Positions
Every Small Business
Must Get Right
