This is a personalised and signed copy of Chess for Children by Sabrina Chevannes – that you cannot get anywhere else.
This book has been the bestselling children’s chess book in the country for good reason – it’s completely abandoned the stuffy way of teaching chess that many kids find boring and overwhelming. Instead, the book is written in pure dialogue between a little girl called Jessica and a little boy called James.
They argue over how the pieces move, what’s right and wrong in chess and are completely relatable to kids all over the world learning this beautiful game.
Sabrina Chevannes is an International Chess Master and a world-renowned chess coach. Her chess academy boasted over 800 students, some of whom have gone on to get master titles themselves.
This is the perfect gift for any kid who loves chess, or wants to start learning chess.

I bought this book for my then 6-year-old son, who was increasingly interested in chess. He already knew the basic rules and we had played a few dozen games. So I thought it would be nice to read him a book that explains things more systematically.
Some reviewers didn’t like the book’s’ conversational ‘tone, but for my son, it was perfect. He was definitely more interested in learning details about chess from chatting kids than if everything had been presented dryly.
The level of the book was also a really good fit for my son, who knew the basics but could learn new things here and there, such as basic matte patterns.
We played some of the mini-games designed to get to know certain characters better, and they were also entertaining.
I highly recommend the book to any English-speaking child who is starting to be interested in chess.
Great for kids up to 10 years old who are interested in chess.

My 6 year old has really taken to chess and this book is really nicely written for him. Love the interaction between the two characters. He knows lots of moves I’ve never even heard of! Who knew what castling was a thing!? Definitely recommend this! It’s aimed at kids, but as an adult you can also learn how to play chess without it being either too dumbed down or too complicated!

I found this book so easy to follow. The writer of the book understood how to keep the person interested in learning how to play Chess. The way he had the two Children interacting with each other in how to play Chess step by step. Anyone wanting to learn how to play Chess from the beginning. This is the book that will get you there.

this is a must for anyone considering encouraging their children into the wonderful world of chess. The game is broken down into bite size pieces with simple explanations how to maneuvre each piece across the board. My kids love it.
